About Dayton, OH

Dayton is a city in southwestern Ohio, United States. It is the county seat and largest city of Montgomery County. As of the 2006 census estimate, the population of Dayton was 156,771. The Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area, which includes Montgomery, Miami, Greene, and Preble counties, had a population of 835,537 as of 2007. Dayton is situated within the Miami Valley region of Ohio, just north of the Cincinnati metropolitan area. Dayton is expected to merge with the Cincinnati Metropolitan area due to Cincinnati's growth northward into the Miami Valley. This will form the Cincinnati-Dayton Metroplex. The estimated 2010 population will exceed 3 million and will rank as the 15th most populated combined statistical area in the U.S.
